For over 10 years I’ve helped individuals, couples and families work through several of life’s challenges. I work on helping people discover their own power and voice in order to gain balance and lead truly authentic lives. I believe that being true to ourselves comes from honoring our feelings and emotions and by being able to talk and express these feelings healing and change can occur.
I draw from a variety of treatment strategies that are tailored to each client’s unique needs. Several years of my training comes from doing in-depth work that focus on how our growing up years has shaped and modeled us into who we are today. Although I believe that lasting change comes from understanding how the past influences the present, I am capable of adapting my style and using other treatment modalities when needed.
As a therapist, my goal is to first create a framework of trust and safety within the therapeutic relationship. I will always try to provide hope, an atmosphere of openness and non judgment, empathy and genuineness. I will also help you on your journey of self discovery to gain insight into how you cope with others and the world, confront and explore the challenges in your life, and find ways to move forward and overcome the negative symptoms or life stressors that are present. I will help you to understand why you do the things you do and give you ways in which you can navigate and change maladaptive behaviors.
